Petro Vista - Custom Single Family House

We called this house Petro Vista because it had a view of the Chevron refinery at Point Richmond. The house was the first solo project of two young architects just setting up their practice. They needed a project for their portfolio and decided to build one themselves. The site was an interesting hillside lot in an established neighborhood. The lot was formed by the intersection of two streets as then came down the hill forming something of a finger of land. The upper level and entry was on the higher of the two streets but the body of the house extended below. Again, I regret not having photographed the project more.
